They were interested in foids. They just decided that working yourself to death just to have a wife and kid you never see is an awful lifestyle. So they just instead rot and jerk off to anime.

East Asians are incels less by foid standards (although that still plays a part) and more by their exhaustive/stressful schedules and utter lack of work-life balance. My dad used to tell me about the 996 era in China and it was pure hell. Good thing it's banned now.
