Went to the card shop today.

I needed penny sleeves for my Pokeman cards so I went down to this chill card shop.

They had $5 booster packs in dispensers and I asked the clerk to pick out 3 packs of the best set with good hits. He got me 3 Paldea Evolved and I opened them in the store.

No hits, just holos. Clerk said "those are good cards" and walked away. Jfl I had a suspicion they weighed the fucking boosters too.

I got Twilight Masquerade/Sword and Shield. Card quality was fine for me, but I got 6 duds in a row. Fuck pokemon collecting. Its a massive waste of money.

I heard Obsidian Flames had horrible quality control too. And the pull rates for all the newer sets are insanely low.

Yeah skip the new sets. They're all so shit. I used to collect when Sun and Moon and XY evolutions were the new sets and my hit rates were insanely good. I got a nice hit one out of every 2 packs. I got a Mega Charizard ex and a Mega Blastoise full art from my XY evolutions purchases. Easily my favorite pokemon cards. I never got a pull even close to that caliber with these new sets.

Trvth. Roaring skies was my favorite XY set and had good rates. But now returning to collecting with horrible pull rates + scalpers + scammers, I almost don't want to anymore

I'm hyped for the upcoming Glory of Team rocket set. Only modern set I will go all in.

Looks very nice but I hope the packs aren't 20 dollars each with crap hit rates. The good sets are so fucking overpriced man.

Don't buy booster boxes or ETBs online, the card will hook you up with decent market prices.
