Weird boomer keeps saying "golly gosh" to himself

My rooms on the ground floor and there's this boomer who lives upstairs.

Whenever he comes downstairs to use the kitchen or go out, he keeps saying "golly gosh, golly golly gosh, golly gosh" to himself.

Even though he's old, he's not old, old, so I don't think he's completely senile.

I would ask about it, but I don't know how I would ask it without it coming off as weird or random.
I almost never speak to him or the other tenants

the worst are old women, who will sometimes develop this retarded affliction that makes them talk, all day long, while projecting their voice like a drill seargeant, so that you can hear it clearly through walls, it's insane
