Yep. Anime is next to fall to the globalhomo.I would never in a million years go to any anime expo, just a bunch of normgroids ruining and appropriating one of my hobbies. I'd kill all these frauds in Terraria
The good conventions were when R18 content was in the open and the cons were for guys that never saw a naked real girl before. Just look at animeexpo2023 hashtag on twitter and see what kind of things are happending. Its just normies and overpriced tickets and food at this point. Even vtubers are part of it going against the 3dpd saying. Its bad. That is one of the better conventions, because following 2017 many conventions banned fake weapons.
Absolutelynormiefest. hard pass.

Low inhib af and mogs me brutally. I've always thought of attending a con as being incredibly intimidating and overwhelming. I honestly can't stand how Anime Expo is using inclusive marketing and even hip-hop culture in its advertising. I'm not sure if that's the actual vibe of the convention, but this is my second year watching the Anime Expo Lite stream on YouTube, and that's the impression I'm getting with the ad breaks:I went to an anime expo in a nearby city with my cousin once, It was kinda cool. Wish I had some brocels to go with though.

In a city like Los Angeles, catering to the large minority population was pretty much unavoidable, but goodness, it's a shame. Many lamented the SJW self-destruction of the comic book industry, but no one seems to care that the anime industry is quietly going through a similar situation without much noise.

I've heard people say anime conventions were different back then, but I think few people would call it "better." A lot has changed with conventions over the years. Now that it's firmly mainstream, artists alleys and dealers rooms have a larger selection of products and artwork, and with cosplay being more accessible than ever, conventions are attracting more (literal) tourists, e-whores who use anime to market themselves to lonely men, and casual attendees who see it as just another social event to attend rather than nerds who are passionate about weebshit. It was ok but I’ve heard that anime conventions use to be much better when anime was still considered nerdy and unpopular.
idk if i would call it a children's cartoon
