I know people who cried over their first pair of glasses and were afraid to wear them to school, for example, yet preferred to sit without them and see nothing.
My older sister suffered a terrible fall in school back then, and her entire future was in jeopardy simply because she didn't want to wear glasses in class because she was too embarrassed.
No one wants to be seen as a genetic abnormality, which is basically what glasses say to your face.
My sister also has thicker glasses, around -8 diopters. I have -9 diopters and was always the victim of bullying at school.
I was bullied by students from other schools.
For example, I received messages from other schools like, "Hey, we heard you're the bullying victim in your class, you ugly little loser."
Stop saying that Chads have to wear glasses. Most of the time, they just do it for fun, like when my glasses were taken away, or Chads advertise glasses and have to model them.
For me, wearing glasses isn't an accessory, but a necessity to get through everyday life.
Contact lenses cause big problems for many...
There is hardly anything worse than the glassespill that turns a sub5 into a subminus5.
Now some people say, "Muh, we can operate on it, muh."
Not to mention the risk that if something goes wrong, you'll have to live with it for the rest of your life and possibly lose your most important sense, it also costs a huge amount of money.
