As time marches forward, fewer and fewer members from the old days remain, I can count the number of remaining 2017cels on a single hand and even including 2018cels does little to improve this figure.
Now of course when these geezers leave (and frankly all members, regardless of join date), their knowledge, stories and experiences of the forum depart with them, the drama, the conflict, the culture all lost to time.
What I'm essentially saying is that we need our resident OGcels (alongside newer users who are knowledgeable about the forum) to come together and chronicle the history of this place and the events that shaped it into the forum we know today. From the conception of the forum all the way to the present day. Things such as prolific former users, forum controversies, notorious e-whores (such as Tahlia and the fuckers like BrendioEEE who simped for 'em, there's a lesson in there) and times our forum got mentioned in the mainstream media etc.
And I'm not talking about authoring a boring historical document, it should be engagingly written like an ancient Greek epic.
I'm envisioning multiple threads with different authors for each time period (some collaboratively written by multiple users) all for the purpose of preserving our culture and lore. As it stands, it takes months (I'd even say over a year) of consistent use to piece together a general outline our forum's history and ever still there are many gaps that'll be lost to time. This is what I hope can be rectified.
It'll be a challenge, but a fun one. And I feel like the final result will be more than worth our efforts if we actually commit to making these treads (which I feel should be posted in the bunker). OGcels and writercels GTFIH! I know it'll probably never happen but I really want to make this into a reality.
