Serious Watching retro anime from the early 2000s makes me sad how good I had it back 20 years ago. Anime is so trash now, can't even cope with it.

Decided to watch the anime movie Blood: The Last Vampire and now watching its spin-off anime series Blood+. Anime was so good back then with its gripping narrative, mystery, horror, complexity, and subtlety. All of it has been steadily thrown out the window and now we have nothing to cope with. All the content today is so bullshit with stereotypes and propaganda, it makes me very depressed.

Yeah most of the episodes are wasted until the last couple which make up the finale, but upon completing the series, I realized the value of that slow and then sudden build up.

Because all that lighthearted colourful crap is safe and marketable, anybody can get into my hero academia, but not everyone can get into berserk or black lagoon.
edgy, violent and rebellious stuff is too shocking and won't sell.

also, i'm pretty sure the japanese want to appeal more to western audiences so they can receive more profit from their work, so they have to neuter themselves so foids, troons, fagss and soys don't get offended.

the only time that anime has ever been edgy, or violent or shocking to my knowledge is when in rising of the shield hero had a foid lie about rape.
and how in goblin slayer, this one foid got raped in the first episode.
and despite that, those 2 shows were both just pretty much your typical fantasy world shit.
