FLORIDA — Newly released body cam video shows the moment Orlando police officers were shot at during a shootout with three young suspects.
The shooting took place just before 1pm Tuesday at Jacobs Place and Lakeland Avenue near Camping World Stadium, according to the Orlando Police Department.
Two officers from the Special Enforcement Division were responding to a Crimeline tip in an unmarked vehicle when they came across the three young men on bikes.
The three suspects opened fire on the unmarked SUV forcing the officers to return fire from inside the vehicle, according to police.
Officers have arrested and charged 22-year-old Jameon Brown, 17-year-old Travis Weston and Michael Collins, 19, with attempted first-degree murder of a law enforcement officer and aggravated assault with a firearm in connection with the incident.
Police added that the officers were not on the look out for these three suspects at the time of the shooting.
Weston was shot in the leg and taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, police said.
Neither of the officers were injured in the gunfight.
