Discussion Was your life better pre Internet?

I was first introduced to the internet via computer which we used in the computer lab in the first grade but it was mainly for school selected tasks, I knew nothing of web browsing. The second most important time I used an electronic device to access the internet was an Ipad I recieved from this program which was supposed to help children on the spectrum and then I had access to Youtube which had some very negative consequences. A good portion of my more likeable years happened pre Internet but alot of good things happened when I had internet access.

Fuck no. I got bullied a lot on account of the fact that my parents wouldn't buy me a smartphone until I was like 12. Pre internet I used to watch CDs all day and try to forget about the bullying in school.

Yes, it was better. I only got a stable internet connection in late 2007 btw. I was 12 years old.

Pretty fun. As i was playing video games, reading comics (Donald duck, spiderman and xmen), watching anime like dragon ball/yugioh/pokemon, watching cartoon network, just visiting my friends at their homes/visit me, riding my bike, going to work on a private field garden to grow some delicious fruits/veggies (fuck my grandma for using jewish roundup lmao) or sometimes watching action movies. Music was also peak. Nowadays it would be impossible to do 90% of those things, i wish i could have just 20% of that happiness (occasional bullying and foid rejecting me wasn't fun but it wasn't as frequent as other cels).

Pre-smartphones, social media, and dating apps though? Yes, my life was definitely magnitudes better.

definitely not. the worst thing that happened to me was from 1982 to 1995, during my childhood and adolescence, and I didn't have access to the internet until the following year, when I was 20 years old. Although the bullying continued, it was much less severe, and it's different when you're older.
