I replied "How could I possibly know that?" and he said "Because you're eyeing me like a faggot" (I'm autistic and always had trouble with eye contact and apparently always will).

He tried to play it up like a joke when he noticed I was upset. But I suspect this is a normie power play. The last time we met outside of school was a chance encounter on the street. He was friendly to me then, but he never apologized for calling me a faggot.

No clue. How long you know the guy? Do you know if he usually fucks with you like that or with other people he talk to? As he could be just being a dick and think you would laugh it off.

Very well could be. Once the social hierarchy really starts to morph into place around late elementary school, the male normoids in the making really start to show their true colors. Even if you are friends with them, they will shit test you, belittle you, and insult you, and they do this to assert their dominance and establish their place within the social hierarchy, attempting to climb to the top, but inevitably fail usually, which is why Chads at the top, and the incels and rejects at the bottom, who don't give a fuck, are usually more chill and don't really do these kinds of things.
