A week ago, my dad preordered GTA 6 while we both were at work and I told him I was going to play it when it released in a couple of months. Now I'm seeing ruckus about it on yt. Was this a bad idea?

All of my brother's mates did that too but he didn't thankfully (yet at least), one even preordered the ultimate edition which is 160 dollars here in ausfailia, 160 dollars for a game that has no gameplay, no physical copy, an "upgrade" so you can mod CARS IN SINGLEPLAYER and it's online play will probably be a subscription service that requires global age verification

The only game I ever preordered was Sonic Mania, and I was really lucky at that. Some game breaking bugs, but they were swiftly fixed.

I will never preoder for as long as I am alive. One of the worst decisions you can make as a consumer.
They need to release a proper physical version. It's not worth buying without that.
There's really no point to pre-ordering it anymore. It made sense doing it in 2001 when digital games weren't a thing and physical copies for some games ran out fast. Modern times with digital codes it's basically pointless. Don't blame your boomer Dad, he doesn't know better.
