MWC broke a lot of sexual boundaries in primetime TV and Bud may have been the very first incel portrayed on television. Steve Urkel and Screech were other "nerds" but they had loves even though it wasn't their oneitis (Laura, Lisa). Bud got almost nothing throughout the long-running series.
