It all derives from an article that purports to show him identifying with they/them pronouns on DeviantArt, but this is actually the default setting for that website. I know this because the same confusion arose with another shooter's DeviantArt account in the past.

Also, the only proof of a furry connection is that Deviantart... has some furries on it

Anyway, this "news" is a good litmus test on who to ignore, since those that spread this story are just peddling spurious claims without reading anything or examining it critically
