We don't have monarchy and we're the only Anglo country to fight for independence and not join the Commonwealth, and we still have good relations with the UK as an ally, not a dominion under it.
If Britain really let you go, it should've been about time for the "provinces" to join the Union as states.
Canada won’t join America just because it leaves the commonwealth. Also, I prefer the Canadian government to the American one, even if you guys have a cooler backstory.
There's no point for the Commonwealth existing; the British Empire is already dead and the UK is no longer relevant in world politics. And we already have alliances like NATO. It's better be leave and be on your own that still pandering to Britain.

As I’ve said before, if you can get America back to it’s free based roots, Canada should join then. But as of now, it definitely should not.
