Pizza Hut is paying $20 an hour to deliver pizza here

...

the staffing agency has been struggling to hire for many months even though the jobs pay $14.50 to $17 an hour, said Gail Smith, staffing manager at Snelling Staffing.

Often 80% to 90% of applicants scheduled for interviews do not show up, Smith said. Last week, they had 17 people scheduled and no one came. Before the pandemic hit, prompting a boost in unemployment benefits, Smith said she'd get 20 to 30 resumes a week. Now she gets one or two.

When Smith calls to ask people why they did not show up to a job interview, she said, "They are telling us they’re making an average of $16.05 an hour on unemployment, so why would they work for anything less than that. I’ve been doing this for 29 years and I've never seen anything like it.”

In fact, Smith has turned down potential clients seeking to hire her firm to help in staffing because, "we fear we can’t help them for general labor. People are not moving right now."

The extended unemployment benefit of an extra $300 per week means an unemployed person could make about $660 every week on unemployment. They are saving on costs such as child care by not working too.

mmmm. on one hand I agree it is easy to get a "decent" job but these days what the pandemic showed us is that there is very little the average person can do to elevate their position in life

it makes people unmotivated when people are getting fired left & right and companies have no loyalty anymore to their own. no benefits. just a sub-par wage that just barely gets you enough to get a meal and have a roof over your head. so while you can get a "decent" job it will require you to work 50+hrs a week and be stressed out every single day for the rest of your life to the point of panic

i got so many family members on unemployment. they were never (mostly) this way before. but now they just don't want to fucking do anything at all because big daddy government was very lucrative for about a year. hell, i got some family swearing oaths to Biden for more stimmy checks:feelshaha:

Hut hut!

I like pizza!

IT MUST FEEL LIKE A GOD TO GET YOUR COCK SUCKED BY AN EASY SLUT IN THE BACK OF YOUR CAMARO WHEN YOU ARE AN UNEMPLOYED SURFER TIKTOKERON WELFARE TOO GOOD FOR A STUPID MIN WAGE GIG

Easy to make 100-250k USD if you are willing to work 100hours a week and not have a life.

Also, after taxes, cost of living, that 100k USD doesn't amount to much.

The jobs are moving from 8 to 10 hour work days now, just to make up for lost productivity from last years lockdowns. Applicants show up but quit by the end of the week because no one want to walk around a concrete floor warehouse with two 15 minute breaks and a 30 min lunchbreak, plus overtime on the weekends in which you work up to 50-60 hours a week. A lot of these warehouses has a penitentiary feel to them when you walk in to clock in. No grown adult want to work fast food no matter what wages the have. No one want to deal with customers, period. One asshole customer can ruin your whole week.

minimum wage jobs are harder to get than college ones in USA. meme country

Depends, you can either go the higher education route and get a high paying job that way OR you can go the labor and "no one wants to do THAT job" route and make a decent living that way.

ofc, there are lots of other ways but those are the two most stable/common ways.

I kinda hate job agencies tbh.

America > "Canada" in terms of earning better wages for more skill-intensive and critical jobs.

Yes, better for the rich.

Meanwhile in my country minimum wage is about 4-5 dollars a DAY.

There's a reason why we have the American Dream. There is no such thing as the "Canadian" Dream because many things are only possible in this great nation.
It’s called the American dream because you have to be asleep to believe in it.

It won't be a dream once we liberate "Canada" from royalist occupation and bring freedom to them.

3 options:

Go to school, get degree, hopefully get a good job

Do a trade and get a job nobody wants. They're giving these jobs away

It doesn’t.
Then explain why "Canada" still has the British monarchy as their head of state, why "Canada" is in the British Commonwealth, why most "provincial" flags are British ensigns, why does "Canada" have places named after British royalty, why do you use British spelling in your writing, why do you fly Union Jacks, why does the Canadian Armed Forces pledge allegiance to the UK and the monarchy, and why every single "parliamentary" decision in Ottawa ultimately has final say and supremacy in Westminster?

burgerland is truly a city on the hill

Its just ceremonial.

Yeah, just one of your delusions you have in order for you to pretend you're different from us just to piss us off with the fact that country would exist.

Without those "ceremonies", then might as well join the Union because outside of that "Canada" has nothing else unique or original (that's not forced) to make it different from America.

Canada wouldnt join even if we didnt have the momarchy

Yes, "Canada" wouldn't be a nation of its own without the monarchy, or keeping with traditions of the British Empire.

Tell me how different "Canada" would be from the US without monarchy?
Probably not much, but borders between countries are usually arbitrary anyways.

If you say borders are arbitrary, then why can't we have open borders between citizens of both territories without passport checks that we can pass through seamlessly (something like the Schengen Area or the Irish border) if we are supposed to be the same nation?

"Canada" will (or at least it's a good idea that they should) join the Union and be part of our expansion beyond the 13 colonies, just like how many parts of the country were acquired from former occupied lands that were not part of the original independence.

It's part of the orchestrated collapse and elite plan to remove self sufficiency from people. Just printing money to pay for it.

We should be able to pass, but 9/11 happened and then it all changed.

Doesn't matter, crossing between our countries should be as seamless as crossing between states and between "provinces".

9/11 was an attack on America. "Canada" was just passively chilling, they didn't really care.

You're just worry about a few neo-revolutionaries training in America then invading the "country" to bomb "Parliament Hill" and overthrow the royalist "government".

become a neet its over in the west as an incel to get a job

Americans aren’t gonna attack us, they probably go to Canada all the time.

Burgerland is the best place in the world to make money, without a doubt (of course it is, we issue the global reserve currency). If it wasn't for money, however, burgerland would be a below-average country to live in.

meanwhile in where i live (another Anglo country) a basic entry level shitty job would have literally 1000 applicants for 1 open position :lul::lul::lul:

i remember years ago place i used to work in posted an entry level STEM position and there was a Colombian PhD foid student applying :feelshaha: just so way over-qualified, battling for crumbs. the competition for jobs here is so fucking intense.

meanhile burgerland GIVES YOU FREE MONEY if you just show up in interview these days in McDonalds. JFL :lul:

the contrast is so fucking real. burger-cels are so fucking lucky. low housing prices, low cost of living, easy to get jobs even as an ethnic. cheap international travel prices. everything is good in burgerland except some caveats (negros, illegal prostitution, gun violent, trash ass trigger happy cops, the fucking IRS, harsh legal system etc.)

based. more people going NEET might making NEETdom mainstream :lul::lul::lul: a collapse of the clown world imminent, they better fast switch to full automation soon to serve the human overlords to maintain the economy :feelsohh:
Low col and low housing prices? Are you smoking crack?

True, when boogaloo and RaHoWa starts in America don't think that "country" is going to be safe up there. The leafs are going down with us.
Boogaloo is an eternal yank cope

Once we restore this country back to the principles it was founded upon and Jew-proof it, "Canada" is also gonna follow suit.

No way are we returning back to Britain. Elizabeth II is not my queen.

Britain crumbled long ago. What remains in the UK a remnants of a long dead empire.
