You will constantly feel as though it is not genuine. You will feel embarrassed and selfish for having the attention drawn onto yourself.

My last day at work is on friday, and my boss sort of strong armed me into going out for drinks with our office tonight. I felt super selfish, as though I was wasting everyone time, as they had children and wives to return to and get them ready for the next day.

I used to want to be the center of attention, but now I realize that having the spotlight is truly selfish.
