The point in authoritarian structures in places like Russia is not to ensure the protection of the Russian people, but rather the protection of the state; while all structures do the same, it is painfully obvious in the Special Military Operation.

I live under such places, so I know how these laws are applied; not Russia, but you get my gist.

Vague laws like the "Extremist" laws, are broad and can be applied conveniently.

One of the most infamous is the "discrediting the army" law.

This is a law used against anti-SMO people; okay, you will just cheer for the SMO, you should be immune, right?

Nope. Pro-SMO activists in Telegram have been suppressed for spreading "fake news" and criticizing the high casualties of the SMO.

The pro-SMO users are given way more leeway, but it is still an arbitrary line where criticism becomes too harsh, the state decides where it is, and it will not tell you.

Furthermore, you can't even call the SMO a war, if you want to stay on the good side, that is.

Russia shows us that the vague, vibe-based laws, are not a good idea. In fact, it can make the difference between life and death, by disallowing public pressure against meat grinder tactics, and war protests.

For more information on authoritarian dynamics and speech optimization (none of that heroic resistance or 1984 dystopia crap; real authoritarianism is boring), you can check out my guide here:

That's why Russia is a piece of shit.

With some care taken you can still call SMO for what it is. But yes the word's been whitewashed from the official narrative.

And also remember that nobody, not even the most liberal of liberals make a point of pissing and shitting on loyalist pro-SMO scum so effortlessly and with such love for the game as the russoid state itself that this loyalist pro-SMO scum in turn worships. We've seen this time and time again.

Yeah. The more costly the war gets, the harder is it for the Pro-SMO to spin it. Pro-SMO spirit is pro military, and who would want to see more soldiers die endlessly?

The Russian govt fears parallel structures like the PMC guy, that uses meat grinder as a talking point against the government.

Pro-military guys strike the Russian state deep in a war that regular liberals don't, because they directly expose internal contradictions, rather than vague "all war is bad".

Laws are meant to protect the people from the state not give the state more powers at least that's how America was founded, and for that reason vague laws are good because they cast a wide net that doesn't lead to constant discussion about meaningless subjects. For example if you set in stone that business owners are allowed to serve whomever that would solve most of the issues with woke because it would be left into the hands of private individuals choosing for themselves instead of groups fighting over state power and the issue would've never come up in the first place.

Some people just don't understand how russoid state views its citizen. Your sincere loyalty does not matter at all. On the contrary to them being loyal is always suspicious. Loyalty holds no actual value. What matters to them is your flexibility and receptiveness to the coin. In the moment they can value you. But as their asset your is job to pivot at the party's bidding, and it's this flexibility that pro-SMO scum often lacks. Another thing they have difficulty with is that their loyalty and trust they put in their state is never reciprocated by this said state. Just because they choose to support their government in the time of need, even when things go way south, they think it's their right to demand an explanation. That russoid state values their perspective and is willing to course correct with their common goals in mind. This of course is pure delusion. Russoid state is a corporation and will take no advice from filthy rabble.

Correct. I think Russia is worse than many other authoritarian states, such as Singapore, because Singaporean authoritarian at least justifies it's legitimacy by providing citizens with tangible improvements in life.

The Russian messaging is the opposite; people are disposable, we need to be tough during hardship (is there a time Russia isn't at hardship?) while the oligarchy runs away.

In fact, you can see it clearly in their military; the PLA invests in lots of drones, combat and rescue, and Russia is still recycling the same shit T-72 tanks with a new sight taped to it.

It's funny to see Westerners say: "We just need to adopt Asian systems and we will have high speed trains".

Africans actually tried it and it failed miserably every time because they ignored non-system factors.

As expected, no one clicked my authoritarian speech guide or bothered to read, while praising auth systems (I actually live under one and can give you overview of pros and cons).

Do you have experiences living under these places? It's interesting to me because you don't see these deep analysis on how Russia or other places work.

Edit: Interestingly, this site isn't blocked.
