Or you can just use Invidious.io which bypasses all of YouTube's ads automatically, still plays in the background on mobile, and you can listen to videos in "audio only" if you want.
invideous is good if you don't go over 720p. I had problems with buffering when using peertube even using the fast servers

I only just found it recently. I am also going to leave a little comment on all the youtube videos that have sponsored ads, telling them to use it and not to subscribe to the channel.

I use a fork of Firefox called Librewolf and Adnauseum, which is also a fork of Ublock Origin.
Since Google rolled out Manifest V3, I am a little leery of using anything Chrome-based at this point.

Ublock origin already removes any ad on YouTube in my case. Why use sponserblock?

See the green? They are sponsored ads. I guess it is in mainly the bigger channels because they are greedy and can afford to lose so viewers. Users timestamp when an ad starts and ends and people upvote it to make it legit. You can also skip intros and go straight to highlights.

Meaning it's not uncommon to have a 9 min video but only 3 min of content after intros, promotion segments, begging for interaction on the video and outtro. YouTube is one big Jew Slopfest now
