Honestly, Mexico has a shitty record of LOOSING wars, so I think America should just invade.
No one's invading Mexico, they'll just put all the pressure they can on Mexico to find the cartel spics that did the kidnapping and Mexican authorities will obviously comply with 0 questions asked. They'll be found and killed/arrested, the cartel leaders will relax, and it'll disappear from the news cycle in a week or 2. 
The real story is that Mexico has been aligning itself with China the last few years along with the current Mexican president, our U.S. intelligence agencies don't like that where they'll make any excuse to interfere south of the border.

Thing is Mexico's corrupt leaders are going back to their 'Latin' roots and going to communism again. And stealing US corporations investments in Mexico.
The US already trains mexican troops and aids in Mexican missions against cartels due to the war on drugs. This just means that the cartels have EVEN more pressure on them with the involvement of the biggest and most heavily funded military on planet Earth.
