In the United States' motion, the DOJ wrote that as a result of the Texas abortion bill:

One minor, who was raped by a family member, traveled eight hours from Galveston to Oklahoma to get an abortion.

Another patient facing violence at the hands of her husband is “discreetly attempting to leave Texas without her husband finding out,” and is “desperate” and “selling personal items” to scrape together the funds needed for an out-of-state abortion.

UPDATE: Fifth Circuit enters administrative stay of the district court's injunction pending review of the State of Texas' emergency motion for a stay of the injunction. The U.S. Department of Justice is ordered to file its opposing brief by Tuesday, Oct 12th.
