Claims that "I wasn't never able to even buy a woman, the way I look". Yet the prostitutes in Sin City are shown to be no more discriminating than real life prostitutes, having sex with regular schlubs looking to cheat on their wives. But Marv is too ugly/disgusting? And given his reputation as a white knight, most prostitutes probably wouldn't regard him as a high risk customer either.
Marv's white knighting is also unrealistic. An ultra-masculine man who gets universally rejected even by hookers for being too hideous would be a seething misogynist in reality. Before he finally finds a woman (who happens to be a prostitute, needing protection from men trying to kill her) who is willing to sleep with him he is in a pool of depression due to his lifelong inceldom, not having anything to live for by his own admission.
One more: why didn't Marv (who had nothing to live for as a drifter and bar brawler) become a prizefighter?
