There are studies where women are happy single. Women are also happy in relationships/marriages. They benefit both ways.

However, I agree with most of what you've said, but still relationships/marriages are transactional in every aspect. Even if you were good looking and secure her as a wife, she'd expect you to resume responsibilities of paying the bills and mortgages. 70% of women wouldn't date/marry a guy who makes a smaller salary than them. Even if we say then remove money from the picture and focus on physical attraction; it's a short way of subconsciously saying "I want your genes, so my offsprings can be better off."
