0=x-x
0*(-y)=(x-x)*(-y)
0=x*-y + -x*-y
0= -(xy) + -x*-y
xy= -x*-y
Not sure about this proof because it really depend on what rules im allowed to use

Look at a number line, from idk -40 to 40 when two positive numbers multiply you go direction > 0 which would be the right
But when you multiply a negative and positive, any, it goes < 0 which is left
So this meaning the direction is changed, which would never happened when multiply with just positive and positive
So if you have two direction changes because you multiplying from negative and negative, it goes to the left, and then the right once again
