I was telling a male friend of mine about the qualities I want in my future spouse. I said I want someone who is at least upper middle class like me or possibly higher and well educated since I’m on the way to pursuing my doctorate degree. Personality is very important too and I want someone who is kind, ambitious, and hardworking.

My friend got offended and said my requirements are elitist and shallow. I said I don’t look down on people who have less than me or are less educated but for a life partner I feel like I’m more compatible with the qualities I listed above.
