Trump may have thought that if resources were developed in Ukraine, there would be US citizens there who would lead these projects and there would be some kind of US military contingent, as if this were a guarantee of security, the presence of American citizens and businesses in Ukraine. On the other hand, this is a murky scheme.

But it does seem like there is literally no plan if Russia just keeps attacking, and to be fair what can you realistically do except risk world war 3, it might just be better to let Ukraine fall at this point

Trump is a strange man, when he came to Finland in 2017 during his visit, he thought he was part of Russia. Or he just wants Europe to spend money on Ukraine. The problem is that citizens in Europe can simply kick out politicians at the elections who will spend the country's money on another country.

I think the issue with Trump, or the only criticism I might have with him, is he seems to have no backup plan if Russia keeps attacking

They broke 25 peace treaties or ceasefires or whatever, now it was with corrupt cucked biden so I get its different with trump, but i think its seriously naive to think russia will not break a 26th ceasefire and not have some kind of backup plan if he does that, to be fair though, what backup plan do you have in that situation? Do you start world war 3 over it? Or do you just let Russia steamroll Ukraine?
