The reason why I post so many polls is because they're low-effort but still get engagement regardless. I just lack the motivation or energy to even try anymore, that's why 90% of my posts are on the sewers. Most users don't even bother reading the multiple page-long shit in the must read section, your efforts are in fucking vain and you get nothing for it. It's best to give up when your audience doesn't give a shit about you, it's better still to never try in the first place.

And if I were to actually try to actually type out these posts, it'd be fucking agonising: I'd be like an autist trying to ensure every single arbitrary combination of letters is perfect and true to the vision in my head, fucking hell; I'm doing that right now. It would take hours out of my life and ultimately change nothing, all that time would be fruitlessly pissed away when I could instead be doing something that would see e a return on investment in some regard.

Most people that end up actually typing shit on ID go for the most low-hanging fruit that everyone here would agree with, basically by parroting what many users already believe which makes those users feel validated so they consequently show support to the original poster despite them not contributing anything original or insightful to the discussion about inceldom. I'm not the one to say shit that everyone likes in order to get them to like me, I'm not treating .is as a popularity contest that I need to win, I'd only want to say something genuinely progressive and insightful.

Poll threads are pretty good at getting engagement

because they’re very easy to reply to

And humans psychologically love expressing their opinion and making it heard. I know everyone always jokes about me being a fed and that the questions are slightly invasive but they still genuinely enjoy answering them.

Unfortunately we do have a heavy skew toward fast-paced (drowns your thread after one hour), highly repetitive, edgeposting/unfunny and pointless one sentence threads, plus a lot of anti-intellectualism (nazis, racism, anti vaxx, young/immature posters, etc). Most here I'm assuming are like me and want humor, relatability, and high IQ reads. The problem is that the latter two are very easy to miss unless you're scouring the forum 24/7, bookmarking shit to come back to and necro later, etc. I wonder if the highlight feature could be used in a better way than just showcasing the latest low effort spammy stuff. There are stuff like must-read and pins, though, so I suppose that helps a bit (without that it might feel like complete chaos). But that only picks up a small fraction of high quality stuff (funny, relatable, high effort, unique, etc), I'm assuming. Perhaps a limit on the amount of posts someone can make per day/week would make sense. Also maybe make necro a common and encouraged practice, within reason, rather than "same shit said again is good cuz it's new".

That's why I assume that Must Read Content was created, though you can't archive everything, I suppose. This post will be drowned out too by tomorrow. And the message will be lost to time once again.

im too lazy and lack the motivation to do anything anymore

i plan on just spending the rest of my existence slaving until i acquire NEETbux by some miracle and spamming the sewers until i either rope or the forum gets wiped off the internet.

This is why my post count is relatively low. I try to post only if I have something worthwhile to say.

I respect that, I became a sewercel as soon as I hit 300 posts because I realised that most users don't respect GrAYcels or what they have to say, even on a subconscious level.

It’s ober

I have a high effort thread in the making but i never know when the best time is to post it (for the record, its pretty much 3PM as i'm posting this reply) and its still in the works

I'm low iq I am illiterate

i do have an original idea for a thread that has the humile calculations falling together to be a hit for once but i decided not to touch it due to the potential engagement anxiety even if recollected low on other threads. think i rather kinda “vibe” then dip and repeat, but users should make lengthy effort threads because i bet they get added to bookmark stashes even if some users bookmarking them don’t contribute to the content they secretly cherish

Truecel trait: you don't have any idea of new content to post since everything has already been discussed

Relatable, this is why i mostly just loweffortpost

I post high effort threads, but I am too lazy to post them on .is. Nobody would care either, everyone would find ways to use what I would say against me anyways.

I would put effort into my threads, but I'm too lazy to think, shitposting is more enjoyable.

This was a very long-winded way of saying that everything here is water.

I barely have the energy to read posts more than three sentences Im tired

High quality/high iq threads do get read, just by a smaller portion of users than you'd hope I guess?

But personally, I don't think you should be grieving the fact that high quality threads get read by a smaller amount of users, because those that have a taste for it will recognize them and engage when they feel like it. They'll certainly remember you.

If you lack motivation to write because you're doing it for others you're taking the wrong approach, you should write whatever you like. Even if it's a little bit low quality at times. You also learn to write better by doing. I see myself often reading back old legendary high quality threads. Even though I didn't really comment on them, they still matter.

You said that you'd feel like you'd be pissing away your time for taking the time to write out long threads. In my opinion, I think you can try to learn to enjoy the process of writing those threads and doing the research and then at the end learn to feel satisfaction of the things you learned whilst researching as well as knowing you improved your writing. Especially if you're a perfectionist, you'll learn quick.

Anyway those are my 2 cents

nah i’m just too low iq

I'm too low IQ to make an interesting thread, everything has been said I think.

Genuinely shifted my perspctive. Y'know what? I'll give it a try, brocel. Thank you very much. :feelsYall:

i m too lazy to even read what u wrote, i will just read the title!

now it depends on what type of thread is, because most of the times, high iq threads i really like to read, but i don t read long threads like yours that are not high iq + probably what u wrote in the thread i can already imagine from the title

That's me, that's why I got 20% for low effort

And now I will get for necro:feelsdevil::feelsdevil::feelsdevil:

I'm too low IQ
