I only ever had 1 friend irl who I didnt even really connect with at all. It just feels like the only people I can be friends with are online. I had a few friends in high school but I've made 0 friends since high school ended (age 18). It seemed impossible.

Somehow in high school it seemed easier because everyone was forced to be around each other in this building all day and people were more open to making friends it seemed.

College was much bigger and everyone was more scattered around campus. In college, it seemed like people quickly made their "friend groups" in the first half of freshman year, that's who they sat with in the dining hall everyday, and then they didn't want new friends the next 3 years.

Nobody wants to make friends at work. Or not with me at least.

The longest friendship I've ever had was aith a US American. It lasted a little over ten years until he suddenly disappeared.

He was very sick in the last couple of months and I fear that he may have died.

I have his phone number and tried ro call him so many times.
He never replied. I know that he didn't block me either.

We are still friends on STEAM as well.

He even understood that I am incel and didn't judge me for it. He was a genuinely kind man. In a way, he was my role model.

I've had 1 "friend" towards the end of year 12, but he was the kind of guy to constantly chase women, constantly get high, do drugs in class, get drunk, listen to black music, womanise/fornicate, etc. He was alright looking as well.

In real life, social interaction has far too many variables that cause an autist such as myself to struggle. Body-language, eye-contact, inflection, etc.

Online, I can simply showcase my personality through text. (And writing is one of my strengths, so) The anonymity also reduces my anxiety by a significant ammount.
