Trouble understanding film naratives and keeping up with the story

I have always had trouble keeping up with story lines in movies and understanding what is going on. Everybody else seems to somehow know what is going on, my father used to get so angry with me. Even now at the age of 39 I still have trouble understanding most movies. I do not know if this is an aspergers thing or what ( I have not been diagnosed yet) Let me know if there is anybody else here that has this problem.

My advice is to start with movies with a simple, easy to follow plot, like Tenent or Inception.

I think we're becoming desensitized, and nothing really captures our attention anymore because we feel our lives are already ruined. Who cares about some movie plot when you're 29 and have never even held hands with a girl? I couldn't care less about the plot. It's a symptom of your past life experiences.

You don't care about some football team winning shit when you're an incel.
You don't care about politics when you know that nothing will change for you anyway.
You don't care about a new exciting video game, when all it does is make you rot and waste even more time.
You care about finding the one thing that is sorely missing in your life—love.

yes I agree with you there, the only thing we can do is have self love as much as possible and dying alone as healthy as possible.
