They are nice, patient, and helpful even to a ND subhuman male like me. The only bad experiences I've had with the many service workers in Japan in this 3 week trip were both Indian pajeet males. One of them this morning in a convenience store was doing something when he should have been checking me out, and he basically said "scan your own crap, I'm busy!". I tried to scan my crap and swipe my credit card, but the screen was only in Japanese and it wasn't accepting my card. He then stomped over to the terminal and yelled at me "PRESS THE ORANGE BUTTON" and tapped it multiple times. I had already done that, dude. Then he walked away. I yelled it won't take my credit card. Then he stomped back over and I swiped my card again and of course it worked that time. But those few minutes when he could have just scanned my stuff and checked me out like every other convenience store worker in Japan almost made me miss my expensive bullet train this morning.
I'm very used to that kind of behavior from service employees in America and Western Europe (the ugly typical American attitude "Screw you! How dare you ask me for help. Do it yourself. I'm doing something else and hate my job and hate you too!") But after the Japanese have been so patient and helpful to this ND clumsy subhuman, I was taken aback this morning.
Not sure if I should leave a bad review, but I'm going with my "no retaliation" policy. I forgive him.
