Recently, I've been practicing the act of typing out things without looking at my keyboard and despite the initial difficulty, I'm finally somewhat comfortable enough with my progress. This started out of pure boredom more than anything.

This made me think: how many of you can touch type and if you can, how fast (WPM) can you do it?

Seems like cope. I type fast enough and I don't see the need to be able to type without looking. Maybe this skill is useful for people who write for a living or something like that

keyboards generally have notches in some of the keys like F and J to help with this.

I used to have an avrage of 85 on typeracER, but nowadays that I do not play that game anymore it is probably less.
I learned touch typing because I was bored, really, but it is a pretty useful skill. The shit part about it is that I learned it on a non standardized english keyboard layout and now that i have switched to a german standard keyboard I am not as efficient.

nice. Since you are a beginner, you can use this to type faster over time without being limited to under 100mps.

Type slowly, always type slowly, don't type on that monkeytype because it's not realistic. To type fast you need to type 100 times, 1000 times a word correctly, don't try to type fast, please.

Typing fast is about muscle memory so just type without mistakes, you will be fast
