Only chads, prettyboys and stacies can dance like bunch of retards without people
thinking that they are retarded and awkward
I mean all TikTok is, is sync your lips with a song and dancing like a retard, there talent whatsoever and people
would think that they are mentally ill a few years ago
not even an ugly female landwhale can pull it off without getting laughs

Ugly people are way more likely to be judged, if an ugly person will dance then people see a retard dancing,
while if a prettyboy does, they see an attractive prettyboy

I did read the title. TikTok being one of the best examples of the halo effect is already known. You just said something that most of us know already

every thread here is a thread that has been talked about before at some point, what's interesting is that
we all come to the same conclusions

It's called logic, it has an objective conclusion.

Tiktok, like almost any form of visual media, shows that beautiful people will rise to the top in a winner takes all way regardless of how mediocre they are. There's no stopping looks. This has happened on every visual platform and will continue to happen.

The rise of tiktok was very sudden. Heard nothing about it until mid to late 2019.

Still have no idea how it spread to widespread use in western countries if the app originated in China and was mostly used by people in mainland China until very recently ngl
But don't download it tbh that way you aren't able to see the suifuel inducing and openly hypocritical comments. Nothing you don't already know from lurking this forum tbh it just isn't worth it to expose yourself to that kind of thing.

It's called something else in China, I remember seeing Chinese students at my uni using it in first year before it became big in the West. From what I've seen, I still don't get why it's so popular, you can do everything on that app that you can do on Twitter

Yeah if you read up about its history online it's called Douyin in China.

Apparently it started when bytedance bought the then popular app musical.ly and bytdance merged it into tiktok
