So if I'm thinking that being a NEET is pathetic and that I compare unfavorably to other people, I will dwell on this for a long time and become miserable. But if I cope with a good book and the pursuit of knowledge, I become transfixed on this just the same and forget my apparent inferiority.

Learning is just escapism and another form of cope, but it can do your rotted brain well if you want to enter university/college later and actually get a career.

In what country can you get a decent career after being out of the workforce for years?

At a certain point of NEETDOM you’re unemployable no matter how much you’ve educated yourself at home. Mostly because there are hundreds or even thousands others other people applying for the same career you want who have a huge resume’, who also could already be lined up for the job

Many companies will infact put out job advertisements in public, but will infact offer that job first to people who are already employed within the company, it’s is some business strategy where they must advertise the job publicly, but they don’t actually give the job to a new person, they advertise publicly to try scare their current employees into going HAM at their jobs to try get that new position

I never understood the self-pity of NEETs. I was a NEET for three years, and enjoyed it quite a lot. The only problem is that although I regained my spiritual composure, I became quite lazy and didn't achieve as much as I could have. Hell, I'm still effectively a NEET considering I don't talk to anyone in my university aside from teachers (not because I'm shy but because they're all women).
