That's a terrible explanation of why incels exist, but it's an interesting point nevertheless. I had never thought about the fact that we inherit our mitochondrial DNA from our mothers and thus traits related to metabolism come from there.

Anyway, IMHO the simpler explanation of why there are incels is that men tend to be selected on behavior (or at least they used to), while females tend to be selected on their ability to bear children, which their secondary sexual characteristics are direct signals of.
