Alot of these posts seem to rate men based on the same standards that men were rated decades ago. If you weren't fat, you were seen as above average and any guy who lifted was wayy above average. This makes a lot of sense for me tbh. My dad was a potential Chadpreet when he was younger. He has a big square jaw, good zygos and very good mouth area and chin projection. That's a terrible explanation of why incels exist, but it's an interesting point nevertheless. I had never thought about the fact that we inherit our mitochondrial DNA from our mothers and thus traits related to metabolism come from there.

Anyway, IMHO the simpler explanation of why there are incels is that men tend to be selected on behavior (or at least they used to), while females tend to be selected on their ability to bear children, which their secondary sexual characteristics are direct signals of.
