All of these photos were taken by French photographer Jacques Prayer in Rue Saint-Dennis, a Parisian street famous for frequent cases of prostitution.
Compared to the women of today, these "ladies of the night" are dressed rather conservatively. How are we supposed to look upon modern women with respect when even the harlots of ages past would not sexualize themselves to that extent?
I have seen how they "clothe" themselves in public: Shorts so short that they expose the buttocks. Pants so tight that might as well be painted on. So-called "tops" that are practically bras in all but name. Even as early as middle school, I witnessed my female peers shamelessly flaunting their developing bodies.
Whether you believe this to be "fair" or not, people will form perceptions of you based on how you present yourself. If I put on an expensive suit before venturing out into the world, most onlookers would assume that I was a white-collar worker on my way the the office. If you choose to in a manner that would put a 60s streetwalker to shame, you will be judged accordingly.

What is particularly interesting is that women are the ones who are primarily chosing to present in a way that reduces them to sexual objects. The few "gym bros" who strut around shirtless are at least honest about their desire to garner attention from the opposite sex.

The effect of women's suggestive clothing on men's behavior and judgment: a field study - PubMed
Numerous studies have shown that men overestimate the sexual intent of women based on their clothing style; however, this hypothesis has not been assessed empirically in a natural setting. This small field study measured the time it took for men to approach two female confederates sitting in a...
