I tried to think of a single time things got better in these 20 or so years I have been on the planet and I can't think of a single instance. The job and sexual market just keeps getting more competitive and brutal with less and less resources to compete over. The cost of living increases, while the quality of life decreases. I won't be even able to wage slave due to automation and globalization taking all the jobs and so on.

Those who are older than me, can you reflect and think of a single time any important thing got better or at least remained the same?
