I think most modern men have become lazy and irresponsible for multiple reasons, not just women spitting in their faces. The modern day lifestyle surely plays it's part, most no longer really have to work to survive; support from family, welfare and a richer society means you have to expend less effort on keeping yourself alive. Along with that, we have dopamine oversensitivity, the constant barrage our brains are receiving from sugar, delious foods, social media, fast access to information, porn etc. If you can get enough dopamine through these means you become less motivated to get dopamine from actual meaningful pursuits.

Also just that most men have nothing to live nor fight for. In war time for example, a country would gather up resources for the war and spread propaganda, men would find meaning in 'defending their homeland'. It's an identity they could fuse themselves too and be proud of. The continued destruction of traditional society and values has made sure that no man will be proud of it.
