For an in depth read on such things and others of the kind, I can’t recommend strongly enough David Hackett Fischer’s Historians’ Fallacies. Goes through a ton of them, with examples in major works of history, illustrating fallacies like correlation/causation and much subtler errors. Applies well beyond the discipline of history.
