Ugh, those types are absolutely insufferable. /r9k/ was full of these freaks even back when the board was...well it was never good, but at least usable. They'd post some anime girl, often a loli, and write their posts like how a stereotypical quirky anime girl would talk. They avatarfag'd a lot and some were tripfags on top of that. They were painfully unfunny and their takes were always dogshit. Some legit seemed like they were going out of their way to be as annoying as humanly possible.

As to what creates someone like this, I'm not entirely sure. I was a pretty hardcore weeb back in the day, have been a lifelong truecel, used /r9k/ and was even a NEET for a few years, yet I never once had any desire to do this shit.

But if I had to guess, it's probably something like is a perfect storm of:

1) Weebdom
2) Being hikikomori (not just a NEET)
3) Autism
4) Autogynephilia
5) Probably several other mental illnesses
6) An insatiable desire for attention
7) A lack of self-awareness
8) Completely losing touch with reality

I have a friend through Facebook; he's just another incel like all the others.
I discussed tulpamancy with him, and he admitted that he derives pleasure from creating fake anime girl profiles on various social media platforms and role-playing as them. I was pretty shocked, and I'm pretty sure there are many vietcels doing the same thing. I also know a few people like that in my class.
