The sun is hotter than Antarctica because
The sun's heat and light are produced by the process of nuclear fusion in the center of the sun. The sun is made of gas with high pressure causing very high temperatures around 15 million degrees Celsius. The sun is hot and bright because of a process called nuclear fusion.
Antarctica has a larger ice sheetIce is cold, and Antarctica is covered by the largest ice sheet on earth. The bright, white surface of the ice sheet reflects most of the solar radiation (and heat) that reaches it back to space. The ice also cools the air directly above it, helping to keep Antarctica cool.
