Note that I had no friends or associates outside of group therapy and yet was being asked to pander to a pretty White lass with shallow thinking. This was during a time when I was being verbally and physically abused by one of my parents for being unable to function like NTs.

Describe your development projects. I am rather interested in discussing them.

Is your Lua-based OpenGL sinusoid-generation project nearly complete? I attempted to access your Github repository, and discovered it was set to private mode.

I often consider it rather strange that my method of structuring basic vocabulary words is perceived as being "highly-intellectual." Nonetheless, I suppose that the individuals on the website are concerned only with validating their own interpretation of the situation.

"please repost question in dumb people terms for me" I cannot seem to understand your question properly. Therefore, I presume that you are not developing the project, then? Let us focus on your Lua capabilities. What types of projects are you constructing?

"is that enough detail for ya" Almost. It seems like an interesting project. Do you intend to implement any sort of advanced AI mechanism for the boss characters? Well, assuming that they are NPCs.

"I'm sorry I'm bad at scripting :(" You should not minimize yourself in this manner. Knowledge is useless if you cannot utilize it to accomplish a task with accuracy and efficient detail. This is a capability that can only be revised from logical-progression. None of the supposed "proficient" users can truthfully deny this.

You are too easily bound by redundant desires. Mathematics/scripting should distract you from the rather-worthless desires such as "eating."

"Don't do a isn't value in the player keep everything in acripts" Yes, I agree entirely. It is quite entertaining to index player data within an accessible table. Here is a rather simple algorithm using your suggestion, given that I enjoyed it so greatly: Level_Data = {["Player1"]={["Level"]= 1,["Exp"]= 10}} Player = game.Players["Player_One"]; function Check_Exp(Ply) if(Level_Data[Ply.Name]["Exp"] < (Level_Data[Ply.Name]["Level"] * 10))then print("Maximum value reached for your level! Increasing the level accordingly..."); Level_Data[Ply.Name]["Level"] = Level_Data[Ply.Name]["Level"] + 1; end Obj.Event:connect(Check_Exp); As for GUI manipulation, you could define the Text data of an object such as a "TextLabel" to the Player's data within the table. Truly, obfuscation is enjoyable.

This text-based tutorial may help you, given that the website also has online compilers/interpreters available to easily use: http://www.tutorialspoint.com/python/index.htm

This is because of the fact that your script is only executing the conditional statement once. You will need to implement some sort of mechanism to execute the conditional statement multiple times. I would personally recommend the use of an event such as this: Obj.Changed:connect(function(Property) if(Property == "Position")then --Execute Lua expressions here. end end) The provided statement will execute whenever an alteration within the Obj's position is detected.

"t["Team"]" Though I would appreciate your effort to assist this individual if I was the person with this issue, using such a Lua expression is equivalent to retrieving the value at the specified table key, which is not the desired effect. As for retrieving the key identifier, the only technique I can think of at the current moment is to simply store the required non-numerical keys within a variable/array for quick accessibility, as shown below: Keys = {"Cookies","Cream","Cake"]; Desserts = {["Cookies"]="A",["Cream"]="B",["Cake"]="C"}; n = 1; --Refers to the "Cookies" index within the Keys table. print(Desserts[Key[n]); --This will print "A"

There's no chance.

I'll do this solo.

The actual importance of the Lua components depends entirely on what you intend to design using Lua. Nonetheless, the standard programming concepts such as variables, functions/subroutines, data-types, and data-structures should be understood and utilized, along with default keywords/operators. All "complex" projects are derived directly from those basic concepts. You should consider tasking yourself with constructing solutions to problems that you would like to "solve." That will allow you to create more effective algorithms as you advance. Here is an excellent resource for acquiring Lua knowledge: http://www.lua.org/pil/contents.html

Ah, did you create this thread solely to boast about your crystallized knowledge? Well then, I would have to inform you that "mastery" subjectively-arises from actual fluid usability and necessity of the language rather than simple rote memorization, as you seem to display. Your interchangeable use of the terms "programmer" and "scripter" is rather questionable, given significant differences between programming and scripting. Nonetheless, I would not argue that you are necessarily incapable. I would simply state that you may not be as capable as you attempt to claim. This is simple novice's overestimation.

im going to be using this thread to save pictures and audio files since i don't like storing them on my hardrive or normie cloud softwares. hope you don't mind :feelsautistic:
