To your point, I honestly can't think of an enforcing mechanism to implement your idea. You can fantasize about it, sure, but I can't see it in real life.

It was mainly enforced through social pressure and shaming of single roasties (i.e. "spinsters"). Remember women are NPCs, they always submit to the ruling order.

And no, there is a difference between social pressure and blatantly assigning them a husband. You need to at least give them the illusion that their husband was their choice and is the best they can do, then they will be reasonably happy.

Weight classes exist in sports like boxing because they have ways of controlling who competes. Look classes will never happen without a complete reset because any attempt to assert reasonable control over women's actions is treated as if women were being locked in tiny cages.
