These are just my notes on the first half of the Quran. What's in bold is my favorite.
My theory: veganism seems like an extra safe way to practice this guideline. If you eat meat, you've eaten what has had blood in it naturally.
I feel like pre-Islamic Arabia might be better, materialism aside.
There was a verse subtitled "Temporary Pleasures" that included children in the list." The enjoyment of ˹worldly˺ desires—women, children, treasures of gold and silver, fine horses, cattle, and fertile land—has been made appealing to people. These are the pleasures of this worldly life, but with God is the finest destination."
I like gratitude because I think ingratitude is connected to antinatalism. When you're grateful for life, you think it's a gift, and if it's a gift, then you should give it to others. The Bible says to be thankful in all circumstances.
I feel like childlessness is stinginess.
I think this is too extreme. But a lighter version of this would be okay. This is an example of an eye for a tooth. Something like this is in The Bible.
Perhaps this means Jesus was married though it later says no: "With the exception of Jesus Christ and John the Baptist (neither of whom were married), almost all religious figures in the Bible had more than one wife." Either way Jesus was just one messenger out of others. We should be like most of the messengers and reproduce.
Perhaps this is pro-life because in The Bible children were sacrificed to idols.
The less you spend wastefully, the more money you have to provide for more kids.
I like this. Altruism should have limits. You shouldn't push yourself to poverty, or then again maybe you should.
In the Name of God—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.
173. He has only forbidden you ˹to eat˺ carrion, blood, swine, and what is slaughtered in the name of any other than God.

Rather, the righteous are those who believe in God, the Last Day, the angels, the Books, and the prophets; who give charity out of their cherished wealth to relatives, orphans, the poor, ˹needy˺ travellers, beggars, and for freeing captives;
God is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
Charity Begins at Home
Your wives are like farmland for you, [89]
Ḥarth means “farmland”—the husband being like a farmer, the wife like productive land, and children like seeds—a metaphor for fertility and growth.
...No one will be charged with more than they can bear. No mother or father should be made to suffer for their child.
Indeed, neither the wealth nor children [122] of the disbelievers will be of any benefit to them against God—and they will be the fuel for the Fire.
Wealth and children were considered the most important things in pre-Islamic Arabia, and so the frequent mention of these things in the Quran is meant to represent all worldly gains.
I feel like pre-Islamic Arabia might be better, materialism aside.

Indeed, if each of those who disbelieve then die as disbelievers were to offer a ransom of enough gold to fill the whole world, it would never be accepted from them.
God will reward those who are grateful.
I like gratitude because I think ingratitude is connected to antinatalism. When you're grateful for life, you think it's a gift, and if it's a gift, then you should give it to others. The Bible says to be thankful in all circumstances.
Give women ˹you wed˺ their due dowries graciously. But if they waive some of it willingly, then you may enjoy it freely with a clear conscience
Men are the caretakers of women, as men have been provisioned by God over women and tasked with supporting them financially.
Surely God does not like whoever is arrogant, boastful— those who are stingy, promote stinginess among people, and withhold God’s bounties.
I feel like childlessness is stinginess.
38. As for male and female thieves, cut off their hands for what they have done—a deterrent from God. And God is Almighty, All-Wise. [250] 39. But whoever repents after their wrongdoing and mends their ways, God will surely turn to them in forgiveness. Indeed, God is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
I think this is too extreme. But a lighter version of this would be okay. This is an example of an eye for a tooth. Something like this is in The Bible.
tooth for a tooth—and for wounds equal retaliation.” But whoever waives it charitably, it will be atonement for them.
Lost indeed are those who have murdered their own children foolishly out of ignorance and have forbidden what God has provided for them—falsely attributing lies to God. They have certainly strayed and are not ˹rightly˺ guided.
˹Do not fail to˺ honour your parents. Do not kill your children for fear of poverty. We provide for you and for them.
You are the best forgiver.
Give good news of a painful torment to those who hoard gold and silver and do not spend it in God’s cause.
March forth, whether you are light (being healthy, young and wealthy) or heavy (being ill, old and poor), strive hard with your wealth and your lives in the Cause of Allah. This is better for you, if you but knew
Suffering is good.Whenever someone is touched by hardship, they cry out to Us, whether lying on their side, sitting, or standing. But when We relieve their hardship, they return to their old ways as if they had never cried to Us to remove any hardship!
those who patiently endure and do good. It is they who will have forgiveness and a mighty reward.
38. We have certainly sent messengers before you ˹O Prophet˺ and blessed them with wives and offspring.
Reward of the Ungrateful
28. Have you not seen those ˹disbelievers˺ who meet God’s favours with ingratitude and lead their own people to their doom? 29. In Hell they will burn. What an evil place for settlement.
My favorite verse so far.If you tried to count God’s blessings, you would never be able to number them.
Your God is ˹only˺ One God. As for those who do not believe in the Hereafter, their hearts are in denial, and they are too proud.
Perhaps this is pro-life because in The Bible children were sacrificed to idols.
I think this means these are good things because they're favors.Favour 16) Spouses and Offspring
And God has made for you spouses of your own kind, and given you through your spouses children and grandchildren.
Retaliation is bad, so this is good.If you retaliate, then let it be equivalent to what you have suffered. But if you patiently endure, it is certainly best for those who are patient. Be patient ˹O Prophet˺, for your patience is only with God’s help.
And do not spend wastefully. Surely the wasteful are ˹like˺ brothers to the devils.
The less you spend wastefully, the more money you have to provide for more kids.
Do not be so tight-fisted, for you will be blameworthy; nor so open-handed, for you will end up in poverty. 30. Surely your Lord gives abundant or limited provisions to whoever He wills.
I like this. Altruism should have limits. You shouldn't push yourself to poverty, or then again maybe you should.
Treasure Your Children
The closest heirs of the victim of an intentional killing have the right to demand the execution of the killer through legal channels. They also have the right to waive the punishment as an act of charity.
It is permissible to have intimate relations in any position, however anal sex is impermissible.
disobedient Muslims. They will be punished according to the severity of their sins, but eventually no Muslim will stay in Hell forever.
The name Muhammad appears several times in the Gospel of Barnabas, which is deemed apocryphal by Christian authorities.
