I think this video accurately explains the psychology behind "hypergamy" and "extremely high standards" of females in respect of the sex / relationship market. TBF I think this lecture explains the general psychology behind having "extremely high standards" for anything

If you listen to this Ted Talk, wherever he says "jeans" - Swap "jeans" with "men". And imagine the average modern female is the ones who's provided with the choice to purchase a pair of "jeans" - Then you should get the idea
