I made a post about this a while back about how the only reason normies cared about corona is because they're NPCs who want to participate in every trend and social media challenge. as soon as the #QuarantineChallenge ended and it wasn't fun or trendy anymore, they went back to their regular lives. go on any social media and you'll see the very same people who were saying "Stay home save lives" a couple weeks ago going to parties, social gatherings etc; they've pretty much forgotten that there was ever a pandemic at all. the most they do is try to keep virtue signalling by claiming they maintained social distance, as if anyone believes that you and your twelve shirtless friends all stayed six feet apart from each other. overall, the quarantining trend got stale and people don't find it fun anymore, it stopped trending, and most people stopped participating.
these protests are the final nail in the coffin though. these are literally the biggest mass gatherings of people in close contact with each other that the US has seen in years, let alone during a pandemic, and even the mass media is acting like there's no risk at all. I don't think the social media hype around corona can make a comeback after this. if protests with thousands of people are considered alright then normies will not be willing to cancel a party with all their friends on the grounds of safety or morality. coronavirus, in the eyes of normies, is long gone
