Think about it. Before puberty, elementary school kids and early middle school kids aren’t really thinking of dating or fucking. Sure they might have some innocent little crushes here and there but they’re just kids being kids and not getting the whole picture.
Prepubescent boys and girls will less likely have a power struggle in a friendship that teen or adult male or females will have from one member having attraction to the other. This means that, as long as the girl isn’t a manipulative bitch, is less likely to string along a boy or make him an orbiter. There is a greater chance of true, platonic friendship between boys and girls than in teens and adults.
Now, ironically, many boys and girls won’t really start becoming “friends” until puberty. When I was in elementary school, I mainly hung out with boys. Boys typically hung out with boys only, and girls with girls only. I would imagine this is due to boys and girls considering each other to have cooties, and not having similar interests. It wasn’t until around 8th grade where guys and girls starting “hanging out”. But while this may be the case, it isn’t uncommon for boys or girls to have at least one childhood friend of the opposite gender. However, it is not very common for two childhood friends to date once they’re older. And if they do, the boy probably becomes a Chad.
But obviously once boys and girls reach the stage where they start wanting to have sex with one another and want to start dating, then we will get the power struggles of one sided attraction. We’ll get the friend zone. Beta orbiting will become a thing.
IMO this will keep happening until they are middle aged adults. People tend to have lesser sex drives when they get older, and it’s pretty common for middle aged and elderly men and women to be friends and just that, usually from work. And since they aren’t into fucking each other, they can be closer to real friends. This is also why I assume gay guys typically have mainly female friends.
Anyway my theory could be totally wrong but I was thinking about this recently.
