TL;DW: German police named him as a suspect. There's a lot of circumstantial evidence, he lives about a mile away, his phone marked him as near the hotel at the time and he changed his registration or something on his car the day after she went missing. He has a long history of violent and sex crimes. And a German girl also went missing who they think he may also have kidnapped and killed. He records all his crimes and the police dug up his hard drives from one of his properties. He's already in prison for a rape, where he'll probably stay indefinitely even if they can't convict him of the murder.

Off topic, but still interesting: The media (like Spiegel) has some pictures that show him with car parts shoved up into his ass and he also had porn with babies, he buried some of that material with his dead dog in an abandoned shed that he owned. He is also not a pedo really because he also raped grannies - he is likely a regressive child sex offender that just chooses his victims because they are defenseless. Really interesting case.
