Back in the day, the net was mainly designed for adults. If parents wanted to keep their kids safe online they would do this via software or settings. An example of a piece of software to do this is Net Nanny.
But this seems to be an outdated approach I suppose.
These days the net seems to be designed for kids first and adults second.
You're assumed to be a kid unless you prove you're over 18. Unless you're trying to access social spaces for kids in which case you have to prove that you are under 18 or whatever the age is.
Us adults aren't the stars of this show anymore it seems!
