In 2023 when you see a video of a guy recording himself dancing while saying #FuckCapitalism on TikTok while wearing a fursuit that's obviously cringeworthy as fuck. But were classic communists in the 20th century also seen as cringe in the same way? Like when conservatives read Karl Marx's communist manifesto back then did they have the same reaction as we do to leftists on TikTok

This applies more generally to all politics and everything I'm just using communists as an example

I honestly can't imagine a single human behavior in the 1800s that would make me "cringe" the same way as a communist furry on TikTok just because of the cultural gap
