In my anecdotal experience I see that those with really good social skills tend to be the ones who think the least. Obviously excluding good looking people, those who tend to have a lot of friends (speaking for men at least), are those who are either completely npc normie tier or those without an inner monologue. A great example of this are Hispanics, whose whole culture centers around family and community. Being extroverted and extremely over socialized. But anyone who deals with these people will tell you that run off of pure impulse and don’t put any thought into their interactions. I believe this is cause being social requires low cognitive effort and a lot of intuition. Things like wondering how long to keep eye contact with someone or where is the acceptable distance to be able to greet someone will bog you down and make you to neurotic to talk to people. Which fucks over the legit critical thinkers because they will actual second guess themselves to death. The curse of intelligence strikes again.

good thread, a lower level of sentience is ideal for proper socialization.

Higher IQ individuals tend to speak slower with less volume.

This is very true

Which is funny since people tend to associate talking fast with higher intelligence. Which explains why people think Ben Shapiro is smart when he’s a midwit Isreali.

lol, this is the most midwit line I've read in a long time. I mean the whole post was dunning-kruger as fuck, but this line especially.

I get that this thread sounds copey but if you really observe how people socialize with each other you’ll notice the pattern of the people thriving are never the more cerebral and introspective types. At best it’s midwits and at worst it’s 85 IQ extroverts who are too dumb to worry about how they’ll be perceived by others. Most of us here probably could have a decent socialize if we had a more simple mindset and weren’t so trapped in our own minds over analyzing every little thing that could go wrong.

That's a malfunctional application of "critical thinking". This is just awkwardness or not feeling comfortable enough around someone

But the very reason you don’t feel comfortable around someone is because of you have a certain level of introspection and intelligence, both things that are key to critical thinking. When you or I get approached by someone new we immediately get tentative cause we’re are trying to sus them out. Are the cool, are they a cunt. A lot of lower IQ normies don’t have that thought process and will bring people into their circle as long as they appear normal on the surface. To be clear I’m not saying that just cause you’re awkward you’re a genius. Just that being dumb can give you the confidence and lack of critical thinking to do well when building relationships.
