A fun topic that few people know of or talk about.
I did a DNA test a few months ago and was wondering why I had Slavic ancestry. The Greek component was expected, but Slavic?
I went on a search online. Being from Balikesir, without any migrant ancestry, I found many interesting Slavic groups that used to live here
Balikesir as a region has many Slavic toponyms. Similar to Iznik, the old Nicaea
Here is an article discussing the Anatolian Slavs and how they got here in the first place. Read if you want to know the place of origin of most of them

Slavs easily assimilated into the Byzantine Greek culture. This is noticeable because modern Greek people have on average 25-30% Slavic ancestry
Here is Ottoman period Greek islanders for show

The ones in Anatolia did fairly easily too and mixed
Let's look at the DNA of Balikesir people to see how Slavic people evolved throughout the ages

Here are the communities that I could find that remained Slavs and didn't assimilate as fast
